Why I Started Red Ready
Red Ready was born from one of the most personal experiences of my life.
While I was deployed overseas, my daughter got her first period. As her mom, I wanted to be there to support her, answer her questions and help her feel comfortable—but I was thousands of kilometres away.
That experience stayed with me. It showed me how important it is for girls to feel prepared before their first period arrives, because we cannot always predict when it will happen or guarantee that a trusted adult will be physically there in that exact moment.
I created Red Ready so girls could have the products, knowledge and reassurance they need ahead of time—helping their first period feel less scary, confusing or embarrassing.
Growing With Her
Red Ready began with the First Period Kit, but getting her first period is only the beginning.
As girls grow, they begin discovering which products work best for them, learning how their cycle affects their bodies and emotions, and becoming more confident managing their periods independently.
That is why Red Ready has grown to include educational resources, cycle tools, everyday pouches and thoughtfully designed bundles that support girls through different stages of their period journey.

Red Ready is for girls preparing for their first period and for the parents, caregivers and mentors who want to help them feel ready.
We know conversations about puberty and periods can sometimes feel awkward or overwhelming. Red Ready products help open that door gently by giving girls practical tools, age-appropriate information and the confidence to better understand their bodies.

Through the Red Ready Sponsor-a-Girl Program, customers can sponsor kits and bundles for girls in need.
Sponsored products are donated through Red Ready to schools, shelters and community organizations supporting youth and women across Canada—helping more girls access the preparation, education and support they deserve.
